Joey Embers is a visual artist and a graduate of Bethany College in Lindsborg Kansas. He currently lives in Topeka Kansas and works as the system administrator for the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library. Joey was selected as a core artist for the NOTO Art District. This selection has provided him the support to establish a studio space and further his artistic practice. Joey’s work has an unsettling dimensionality created through the use of multiple perspectives, bold color and textural paint handling.
Shifting Landscapes was a live painting performance piece with Joey Embers and Kurtis King at the Stonewall Art Gallery. It showcase three dramatic large-scale action paintings enhanced with startling video projections of Kansas landscapes.
