Brief Bio:

Joey Embers grew up in McPherson, Kansas and attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas.  This is where he found his passion for painting.  With the guidance of two remarkable painting professors Mary Alison Kay and Frank Shaw, Joey was given the tools to develop his visual language.

Artist Statement:

Painting is my passion, my purpose in life.

Dry Cracked Hands… I stand underneath a light mixing color.  The pigment slowly creeps its way into the valleys of my fingernails and the open cracks of my hands.  Painting is a ritual for me, allowing me to transcend my physical limitations to a higher plane of consciousness.  My paint brushes are an extension of myself that creates a bridge into the sub-consciousness of reality.
