LightHouse
A Beacon in the Storm
I remember the moment I first met her—a luminous beacon in the midst of my chaos. I was immersed in swirling thoughts and unspoken dreams when her smile shone like a lighthouse guiding a ship through stormy seas. In my cramped college studio, while I painted, she quietly appeared and said, “I just would like to see what you see.” Her words cut through the darkness, gently steering me from violent waters toward a safe shore. In that instant, she became my lighthouse—a steadfast guide promising unwavering love. It was clear then: the luminous beacon was the key that unlocked a world of clarity and hope.
Now, after years of ups and downs, I reflect on the journey we've shared. Together, we've weathered turbulent storms and celebrated quiet, sunlit days. With every challenge, we built more than a house—we built a home. A home that, while far from perfect, is lovingly patched with our own hands. We fixed leaks and mended holes as our five children scampered around, their tiny feet exploring every corner, sometimes breaking things, sometimes testing our patience. Yet every repair, every careful brushstroke, added to the unique charm of our sanctuary.
And as our kids venture out into the world, we will continue to shine our light, a beacon guiding them back to the warmth and security of the home we built. The world we painted together isn’t flawless; it’s simply right—just where it needs to be.
