2014 Upcoming Art Shows

Picture
It's fascinating to learn about Joey Embers and their artistic journey. From their background as a Bethany College alum in studio arts to their career as an IT professional managing systems and networks within public libraries, Joey has successfully balanced their technical expertise with a passion for art.The description of Joey's recent solo show in Russell, KS, and participation in group shows at the Salina Art Center and Sabatini Art Gallery in Topeka, KS, highlights their active involvement in the local art scene.
The two bodies of work, "Rooms of the Interior" and "Roaming House a journey home," provide insight into Joey's artistic exploration. The internal spaces with skewed compositions in "Rooms of the Interior" and the vibrant emotional landscapes featuring a small house figure in "Roaming House a journey home" showcase a diverse range of artistic expression.
Joey's response to why they paint reflects a deep personal connection to the medium, emphasizing the therapeutic and self-reflective aspects of the creative process. The quote, "I paint because I have to. I lose myself in the mixing of colors and find a shadow of my existence in the application of paint. I am a painter," encapsulates the intrinsic motivation and passion that drives their artistic endeavors.

Artwork will be up for the month of February.
Opening reception is February 3rd from 2pm-4pm. 114 1/2 S. Main Street, Lindsborg, KS 67456
